Description

In the early days of BMW's M Division, it was not intended to produce fast SUVs or large sedans, it was set up to produce a small number of race-derived vehicles, mostly intended for homologation purposes. Coming to prominence in the United States with the E30 M3, BMW's M learned from this project that putting the largest engine into the smallest car isn't the only way to make a car fast and exciting. Although to the untrained eye, an E30 325i coupe and E30 M3 don't look all that different, BMW engineers spent loads of time altering little things all around the car- no single one was enough to make a big difference- but when put together as a package, you got one of the most legendary cars to ever leave BMW. As time moved along, BMW began to shy away from this ethos but every once in a while, a car is produced that harkens back to this type of engineering, and with the introduction of the M2 CS in 2020, people could tell it was that sort of car. The M2 Competition that preceded it was already a car that was lauded by the press as one of the best driver's cars on sale but when they were able to get their hands on a CS, people realized they were dealing with a totally different beast. Built around the M4 Competition's 444 horsepower twin-turbo inline-6, the M2 CS featured significant measures taken to both save weight and add chassis rigidity-much like what was done in the E30 M3. A carbon fiber transmission tunnel cut down on the weight while also reducing chassis flex and a carbon fiber roof panel did the same while also keeping the weight lower in the chassis. The M-Dynamic suspension was fully revised and kept the car planted even on rough roads while still remaining comfortable enough for touring.

This BMW M2 CS is finished in fantastic Hockenheim Silver over a black leather and Alcantara interior. Showing less than 6,000 miles from new and having just one owner, this M2 has been immaculately kept and features a few notable upgrades which make it even more special. From the factory, the car was optioned with the DCT double-clutch gearbox- this makes it a perfect car for track days or autocross and will help make you an even better driver when behind the wheel. The beautiful split-spoke M wheels are finished in black and the contrast between them and the bright red brake calipers behind them gives a truly stunning look to the vehicle. Although the M2 CS was designed for hard, sporty driving, it is equally as competent as a grand touring car, and thanks to the upgraded Harman Kardon stereo in this example, it makes that even more pleasant. That being said, when you're really going for it, hearing the stereo may not be so easy- the exhaust was upgraded with a unit made by Slovenian company Akrapovic which looks great out back with the carbon exhaust tips matching the rear carbon diffuser perfectly. The front end is completely covered in paint protection film and the bodywork around the car is nearly flawless. If you have ever wanted to experience the true essence of a BMW M car while keeping the speed, reliability, and comfort of a new car, there are no better options than the M2 CS.
