Description

Porsche's 993 generation was always a special car. Standing as the last of the air-cooled 911, from the 993's inception it was destined to be a collectible vehicle. The Turbo was even more special, utilizing many of the lessons learned in the 959 supercar, it was a huge technological advancement in the 911 range and showed the direction that the brand would be going in the future but, the most special has to be the 993 Turbo S. With just 345 examples built in total, only 183 Turbo Ss came to the United States and it represented the pinnacle of Porsche development at the time and with that, the pinnacle of air cooled 911. The 3.6-Liter twin-turbocharged flat-6 was upgraded at the factory with a set of larger K24 turbochargers along with an additional oil cooler. This bumps power output to 430 horsepower that is sent through a 6-speed manual and an advanced performance-tuned all-wheel-drive system before getting to the ground. Upon its debut, the Turbo S was the fastest accelerating car on sale and with 0-60 in under 4 seconds and remains one of the fastest cars on the road. The Exclusive Aerokit II that was standard on the Turbo S gave the car some subtle differences from a standard Turbo but to those who know, the extra rear spoiler, additional front venting and air intake in the rear fenders give away the fact it's a Turbo S.

This 1997 Turbo S is painted in a beautiful shade of Guards Red with the Turbo S' famous, special finish silver hollow spoke Turbo Twist wheels with a set of yellow brake calipers beneath them. Prior to this car being put up for sale, it was treated to a multi-day professional detail including the removal of the undertrays for a dry ice treatment. The interior has Porsche's signature hardback bucket seats which are covered in black leather and is carried onto the steering wheel and dashboard. Both the dashboard and steering wheel also have a unique carbon fiber weave finish trim and the gauge faces, shifter and hand brake are all aluminum. Since new, this car has only traveled 12,000 miles and remains in nearly flawless condition. The car features all of its original books and manuals along with the air compressor and tire repair kit and a host of service records. Before this car was put up for sale, famous automotive photographer Larry Chen did a full shoot on the car and a set of limited edition prints is included.
